The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Operations Lead to oversee the reliability and continuous improvement of our build and delivery infrastructure. This role will lead a team responsible for ensuring the 24/7 stability, scalability, and performance of CI/CD pipelines and supporting platforms critical to software development and deployment.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a passion for operational excellence, and proven leadership experience in modern DevOps and infrastructure environments.
About the Team
At Nutanix, you'll be joining the Developer Productivity team, a collaborative and dynamic group dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our development processes. Our team is geo-dispersed, allowing us to tap into a diverse range of perspectives and expertise from various locations, while fostering a strong sense of community and teamwork despite the physical distances.
You will report to the Sr. Network Operations Manager, who is committed to creating an environment that supports innovation and personal growth. Your work setup will follow a hybrid model based at our San Jose headquarters, where you'll be expected to come into the office three days a week to engage directly with your colleagues and enrich teamwork.
Your Role
- Lead and mentor a team responsible for infrastructure operations, CI/CD systems, and developer enablement platforms
- Own the reliability, performance, and scalability of the build and deployment infrastructure
- Drive CI/CD infrastructure optimization across multiple environments
- Oversee operations for tools and platforms, including GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gerrit, and other repository services
- Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce manual processes, and enhance system resilience
- Establish and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics
- Maintain 99.9%+ infrastructure availability on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and platform teams to ensure alignment and integration
- Lead incident response efforts, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure infrastructure adheres to security, compliance, and governance standards
- Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance the infrastructure ecosystem
- Serve as a primary escalation point for complex issues, providing expert guidance and resolution. This role requires occasional availability outside of standard business hours to address critical system outages or urgent business needs.
What You Will Bring
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or team lead capacity
- Strong experience with CI/CD systems and build infrastructure
- Strong experience in Operational Efficiency, Disaster Recovery, and proactive problem management.
- Provide as-needed after-hours support for critical build infrastructure
- Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar)
- Experience with monitoring/alerting, logging, and observability tools
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
A Plus:
- Hands-on expertise with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gerrit, and similar platforms
- Experience with driving business transformation and organizational change
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with Nutanix platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing large-scale, distributed systems
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of secure software supply chain practices
- Experience in driving root cause analysis and improvement
- Experience implementing DevOps best practices in enterprise environments

Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 169,600 and USD $ 338,400 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
